This record group consists of documents pertaining to the organization, structure, and land holdings of the Maryland Agricultural College and the University of Maryland. Document types include acts, charters, amendments, lists of stockholders, shares of stock, and insurance policies.

This record group consists of legal documents pertaining to the history of the University of Maryland.
Scope and Contents of the Collection
The documents cover the years 1856 to 1920. The record group consists of acts, charters, amendments, receipts, stockholders shares, deeds, indentures, lists of stockholders, and insurance policies.
Custodial History and Acquisition Information
This record group was accessioned in 1972.
Processing Information
Addenda incorporated and guide revised by Susan King, October 1988.
These documents were brought together and placed into one series. All the paper clips were removed and replaced by plastic clips. The documents were then placed in folders in acid-free boxes. Some documents have been laminated.
