Anne Arundel County is located in the Baltimore metropolitan region, bordered on the east by the Chesapeake Bay, the north by Baltimore County, the west by Howard and Prince George's County, and on the South by Calvert County. The County seat is Annapolis. Major locations include: Glen Burnie, Laurel, Baltimore Washington International Airport, Patuxent National Wildlife Research Refuge, Fort Meade, Odenton, Crofton, Severn (and River), Southgate, Riviera Beach, Lake Shore, Severna Park, Arnold, Chesapeake Bay, Sandy Point State Park, US Naval Academy, Pumphrey, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Cape St. Claire, Gibson Island, Herring Bay, Shady Side.

Carroll County is located in the Baltimore metropolitan region, bordered on the east by Baltimore County, west by Frederick County, and the south by Howard County. The County seat is Westminster. Municipalities include: Hampstead, Manchester, Mount Airy, New Windsor, Sykesville, Taneytown, Union Bridge, Dorsey, Liberty Reservoir, Piney Run Lake, Patapsco State Park.

Harford County is located in the Baltimore metropolitan region, bordered on the east by the Susquehanna River and Cecil County, the north by Pennsylvania, the west by Baltimore County, and the Chesapeake Bay on the South. The County seat is Bel Air. Municipalities include: Aberdeen, Havre de Grace, Jarrettsville, Susquehanna valley, Fallston, Gunpowder River, Joppatowne, Edgewood.

Howard County is located in the Baltimore metropolitan region. The County seat is in Ellicott City. Major towns include Columbia, Savage, Clarksville, Jessup, Elkridge.

Archives of the Work Projects Administration (WPA) in Maryland, 1933-1943 The collection contains records of the Maryland Work Projects Administration (WPA) as well as those of the Maryland Emergency Relief Administration (MERA) and the Civil Works Administration (CWA), its immediate predecessors.
