Caption reads: "This Doll House was a favorite toy of Fanny Hayes while she was living in the White House, Washington, D.C. It was designed and constructed by George C. Brown, of Baltimore, Md. and was given by him on February 13, 1878, to President and Mrs. Rutherford B. Hayes for their daughter, Fanny, then ten years old.
