Summary:Aerial view of Arlington Memorial Amphitheatre in Arlington, Virginia, circa 1907-1914. Reverse caption reads: "Memorial Amphitheatre, Arlington, Va. A beautiful memorial to the dead heroes of the nation, situated in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia. It is built of white marble, in the form of an ellipse, the front formed by a temple facing the Lincoln Memorial across the Potomac in Washington City. A broad stairway leads from a beautiful garden to the temple. It will seat 5,000 people in the amphitheatre proper and several thousand more in the colonnade. Cost $750,000." Postcard number: 9940.
