Villamor (left), World War II air ace and hero of the Phillippines guerilla forces, recieves the Medal for Valor and the Distinguished Conduct Star, the Phillippines two highest awards from visiting President Carlos P. Garcia of the Phillippines, 6/19. Villamor is credited with destroying 8 Japanese planes as an American A.F. pilot and establishing communication with guerilla forces prior to the American invasion."
