Summary:Monument and house of Jennie Wade, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, circa 1907-1913. Caption reads: "JENNY WADE, HOUSE AND MONUMENT. Miss Jennie Wade was killed the morning of July 3rd, while attending to household duties in a little brick house on Baltimore Street, near the National Cemetery. She was the only citizen of Gettysburg who was killed during the battle. The house is now used as a war museum, and shows hundreds of marks of bullets and shell. The monument marks her last rest in the Citizen's Cemetery." Postmark date: July 2, 1913; Postcard number: R-37851; Message included.
