Discords fanzine, September 1981


Summary:The September 1981 issue of Discords, a tabloid fanzine that focused on the punk and underground music cultures in the Washington, D.C. area and beyond. Discords editor Howard Wuelfing was an important early participant in the D.C. underground music scene, both as a musician (Slickee Boys, Nurses, Half Japanese) and as a fanzine creator (Descenes, Discords). This issue of Discords includes interviews with Circle Jerks and Vivien Goldman. It also includes scene reports and articles from several notable people like Calvin Johnson (K Records, Beat Happening), Jim Testa (Jersey Beat fanzine), Gerard Cosloy (Conflict fanzine, Matador Records), Terry Katzman, and Dave Stimson (Touch and Go fanzine).
