An artist's conception of the legendary Barbara Fritchie incident in Frederick, Maryland, during the Civil War. The Confederate troops marching into Frederick were ordered not to 'harm a hair on yon gray head' by their commander, despite Barbara Fritchie's open defiance. Her house still stands on Patrick Street and is open to the public." Includes inset portrait of Barbara Fritchie and gravestone. Postcard number: 21265.
