Caption reads: "Truches is a remote Spanish-American settlement 40 miles northeast of Santa Fe in the high foothills of the Sangre de Cristo range. It is built of logs and adobe and with snow-covered peaks towering behind, it has much the appearance of a primitive Siberian village.
