Summary: | Royal Governor's Palace and Colonial Coach, Williamsburg, Virginia, circa 1931-1944. Caption reads: "The Governor's Palace, 1710-1715. The Palace and its dependencies, preeminent among notable estates in colonial America, have been rebuilt on original foundations. Many of the rooms in the Palace are of special interest because of the collection of antique furniture, paintings and other furnishings that have been chosen to conform with the inventories of royal governors. The gardens are considered more typical of formal eighteenth century English gardens than others in America." Postmark date: April 21, 1948; Postcard number: 10, 64507; Message included. |
