Summary:Civil War Virginia, Chancellorsville, Virginia, circa 1971-1990. Caption reads: "Civil War Virginia, Chancellorsville. The Chancellorsville Campaign, April 27-May, 1863, was a Southern victory fought between General Joseph Hooker's Army of the Potomac and General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. The Battle at Salem Church is known as the greatest victory for Lee, whose troops were outnumbered two to one. 'Stonewall' Jackson was wounded by his own men during this campaign and died at a nearby Guinea Station. Background: Chancellorsville Battlefield.
