The Chancellorsville Campaign, April 27-May, 1863, was a Southern victory fought between General Joseph Hooker's Army of the Potomac and General Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia. The Battle at Salem Church is known as the greatest victory for Lee, whose troops were outnumbered two to one.
