Summary:In this first part of the Oresteia trilogy by Aeschylus, Agamemnon returns from the Trojan War. His queen, Clytemnestra, intends to avenge their daughter, Iphigenia, sacrificed by Agamemnon, to secure a favorable wind toward Troy. Aegisthus, Clytemnestra's lover, will avenge the murder of his brothers by Agamemnon's father.
