Summary:As a jazz pianist, composer and arranger, Gil Evans' career has been one of constant change and improvement. Evans worked with, and was influenced by, a wide variety of musicians, including Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Gerry Mulligan, Jimi Hendrix and Sting. Portions of Evans' landmark album, Porgy and Bess, which he recorded with Mulligan, are featured and discussed.
