Summary:Recording of Katherine Anne Porter reading her long story "Noon Wine" on November 12, 1953, at the Poetry Center, 92nd Street YM-YWHA, New York, NY. Tape one of three. Porter is introduced by John Malcolm Brinnin, who published a portion of "Noon Wine" in Signatures (Spring 1936). Before reading, Porter talks briefly about the sources for the story. This recording includes the text on pages 222-39 in Collected Stories.
