Caption reads: "The Randolph-Macon Institute, founded in 1897, is a branch of the Randolph-Macon System of colleges and training schools. Although under the auspices of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, it is non-sectarian in its teachings. Pupils are fully prepared for college, or given additional courses if desired."
