Summary: | Taku Glacier, Alaska, circa 1907-1914. Message reads: "This is the most wonderful sight. The picture gives one no idea of the size of the glacier. It is the most lovely blue. The crevasses are a deep blue and shades out to a very light blue. The boat ran very close to it and we were able to get some wonderful views. It was quite interesting. Could hear it cracking and saw some pieces fall off. Simply cannot write about all the lovely things, will tell you about it later." Postmark date: July 17, 1919; Postcard number: 796 LHP; Message included. |
