Summary:Sally Ann Furnace, Reading, Pennsylvania, circa 1915-1930. Caption reads: "Sally Ann Furnace dates back to A.D. 1791 and was in operation until 1881. It required 150 acres of woodland to make the charcoal to operate the furnace. Capacity 6 ton of iron per day. Ten plate stores made here. The furnace is now owned by Congressman Charles J. Esterly."
