It forms a hollow quadrangle 160 feet square, and is united with the Chancellor Green Library. In 1760, when the first pamphlet of Princeton's Library was published, the number of volumes owned was 1,800; in 1904, the number was 183,000, the full capacity of the shelves being 1,200,000."
