Summary: | Whig Hall and Clio Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey, circa 1901-1906. Caption reads: "Whig Hall and Clio Hall. The American Whig and the Cliosophic Societies are the only secret organizations recognized by the University authorities. The former erected Whig Hall in 1839, the latter, Clio Hall in 1837. In the reconstruction of the University buildings and grounds, begun in 1889, the original halls were torn down and the present ones erected, both practically alike and as severely classic as the old ones."
