Hermit Trail at sunrise, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, circa 1915-1919
|
Description |
The Hermit Trail in Grand Canyon National Park at sunrise, Arizona, circa 1915-1919. Caption reads: "Until recently the traveler who desired to explore the depths of Grand Canyon had little choice in trails and those who feared great heights and sheer precipices were at times anxious. Now there is a wide bridle path--it can hardly be called a trail--of comfortable grade and with a substantial wall on the outer edge leading into the Canyon at one of its most beautiful points. The new road is called "Hermit Trail' and parties go over it daily from El Tovar and Bright Angel Camp." Postmark date: October 30, 1919; Postcard number: H-1536; Message included.
