Colonial American flag from Fort McHenry, Washington D.C., circa 1970-1990. Caption reads: "This was the actual flag, 30 feet by 42 feet, with 15 stars and 15 stripes that flew over Fort McHenry. It was this flag, waving defiantly over the fort after a 25 hour bombardment on Sept 14, 1814, that moved Francis Scott Key to write 'The Star Spangled Banner.' The flag is located at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C." Postcard number: 77807-D.
