Monument to General Robert E. Lee, Charlottesville, Virginia, circa 1930-1944. Caption reads: "General Robert E. Lee was born at Stratford, Va. in 1807. As Commander in Chief of the Confederate forces during the Civil War, this statue has been erected in his honor in Charlottesville, Virginia, in which state the last decisive battle of the Civil War was fought. Lee died in 1870." Postcard number: 7570.
