A certificate presented to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America by the United States War and Navy Departments, circa 1915. The certificate reads: "War and Navy Departments / United States of America / This Certifies that United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America have assured the War and Navy Departments that they will gladly reemploy everybody who formerly worked with them, and left to serve in the Army or Navy during the Great War." It is signed by a representative of the War and Navy Departments and carries the United States government seal.
