Clara Barton Monument, Antietam Battlefield National Park, Sharpsburg, Maryland, circa 1941-1970. Caption on back reads: "During the battle of Antietam or Sharpsburg on Sept. 17, 1862 Clara Barton brought supplies and nursing aid to the wounded on this battlefield. This act of love and mercy led to the birth of the present American National Red Cross. This monument provided and erected by the Washington Co. Md. Chapter of the A.N.R.C. The monument of the union soldier to the left is erected to the memory of the 7th Infantry Regiment Penna. Reserve Volunteers." Postcard number: S-46440-2.
