Mobile protest in support of Equity’s demands for union recognition, guaranteed pay and regular employment in New York in 1919. Equity was led by women, such as Ethel Barrymore, and replaced the male-dominated White Rats Actors Union. In the photo, six women are holding letters that spell out "equity".
