Historical sequences highlight the struggle for national freedom, and economic and political development. Woven through all of this is the story of the labor movement - how workers fought for old-age pensions, better schools, safety regulations, workmen's compensation and other measures that benefit all Americans. The film was revised in 1962. Ralph Bellamy does the commentary.
