Summary: | James Hymes, Professor of Early Childhood Education at the University of Maryland, circa 1960. In addition to numerous booklets and books on childhood (including "A Pound of Prevention" (1947) and "Understanding Your Child" (1952)), Professor Hymes co-wrote, with his wife, Lucia Hymes, two books of verse for children, "Hooray for Chocolate" (1960) and "Oodles of Noodles" (1964). Professor Hymes served as a Professor at the University of Maryland from 1957 until his retirement in 1970. |
