Summary:Advertising flier promoting a concert by the Washington, D.C. post-punk band, Chalk Circle. The concert occurred on April 1, 1982 at d.c. Space. Chalk Circle is notable in the history of D.C. punk music for the being the first all-female punk band. Their wiry post-punk music stands out among the hardcore punk sound that dominated the D.C. punk scene in the early 1980s. Guitarist Sharon Cheslow went on to be in the bands Bloody Mannequin Orchestra and Suture. She also co-authored "Banned In D.C.," the first book on the history of the D.C. punk scene, and is an artist, archivist, and librarian. The flier was designed by bassist Tamera Lyndsey.
