Notes: Geographer Olson's book, by far the most thorough illustrated history of Baltimore, is strong on geographic and commercial development, and gives less attention to the arts, including architecture. However it does feature many historic photographs of buildings and contemporary news accounts of their construction.

Henry, and Mark R. Edwards. The largest project to date conducted by the Maryland Historical Trust is essential to an understanding of the unique remains of Maryland's historic resort area and coal and iron district.

Notes: This photo history has minimal captioning, but included amongst the photographs are illustrations of period newspaper articles, from the Sun, and excerpts from books and magazine articles of the eras. There are five essays covering the years from 1900 to 1930. Journals used include Women's Home Companion (1927) and Harpers Weekly (1904).
