|
Description |
Circa 1980s photocopy of a flier advertising a punk percussion protest at the South African embassy on June 21, 1985. The flier also promotes a concert by the Washington, D.C. punk band Rites of Spring and the Rochester, New York rock band Jet Black Berries at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., also on June 21. The flier also refers to a concert by the Washington, D.C. punk band Beefeater (joined by the band Traintime) at d.c. Space in Washington, D.C. on June 22. Sharon Cheslow photocopied the original flier for the concert while conducting research in the 1980s for the book that she co-authored on the D.C. punk scene, "Banned In D.C."
