Miss Fanney Mae Harvey, a member of the 4-H club in Garrett County, Maryland, christens a new variety of potato developed by scientists at the University of Maryland and the United States Department of Agriculture with a pitcher of water from the Potomac River, November 5, 1943. Miss Harvey was the daughter of Earl K. Harvey, a seed potato farmer of Swanton, Maryland.
