Head shot of physics professor Jean-Paul Richard in 1987. He taught at the University of Maryland from 1968 to 1995 and is now a professor emeritus of physics. Several research projects he took part in include: the lunar gravimeter experiment, resonant capacitor transducer for Weber bar antenna experiment, wide-band and high sensitivity with multi-mode gravitational-wave detectors, Fabry-Perot instrumentation for multi-mode gravitational-wave detectors, and cryogenic optical cavity for laser stabilization and precise time measurements.
