Title |
Landscape of a deforested slope, H78
|
Description |
A deforested slope near Kawata, Okinawa. Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "A slope of Lithosols from sandstones and phyllites, which has been cut and probably burned as well. The present vegetation consists of grass and brush, the latter including some small pine reproduction and bamboo, except for the clump of big pines that somehow escaped axe and fire. This is near the site of H77."
