Title |
The Necros and Count 4 flier - Woodlawn High School, Arlington, Virginia, February 14, 1981
|
Description |
Photocopy of a promotional flier advertising a "St. Valentines Day Massacre" show with performances by the bands the Necros and Count 4. The concert occurred at Woodlawn High School in Arlington, Virginia on February 14, 1981. The flier notes that The Necros are a "black boot punk band" and Count 4 are a mod band. The Necros featured on this flier were a punk band from Washington, D.C. and are not to be confused with the hardcore punk of the same name from Maumee, Ohio, who operated at the same time and soon forged strong ties with the D.C. punk scene. Sharon Cheslow photocopied the original flier for the concert while conducting research in the 1980s for the book that she co-authored on the D.C. punk scene, "Banned In D.C."
