Title |
Hüsker Dü concert flier, Psychedelly, Bethesda, Maryland - October 6, 1984
|
Description |
Advertising flier promoting a concert by the Minnesota-based punk band, Hüsker Dü. The concert occurred on October 6, 1984 at the Psychedelly in Bethesda, Maryland. The opening bands were Shanghai Dog (featuring former members of the Vancouver punk band The Subhumans), The Psychotics, and Peach of Immortality. The flier was designed by Gordon Ornelas, under the pseudonym Chow Chow. Ornelas was the editor of the D.C. punk fanzine "WDC Period," as well as a monthly, hand-drawn concert calendar called "The Chow Chow Times." The flier's verso includes a handwritten note asking the recipient -- D.C. artist and musician Sharon Cheslow -- to "please spread the word" about the concert.
