Portrait of Dr. Charles B. Misner, a physics professor, in 1988. His specialties include general relativity and cosmology. His work has also provided early foundations for studies of quantum gravity and numerical relativity. Charles W. Misner, 84, was one of the recipients of the Albert Einstein Medal in 2015 for a series of equations known as Arnowitt-Deser-Misner formalism, otherwise known as ADM formalism.
