Tokyo Station with bamboo scaffolding outside the railway building, and people standing by streetcar stop waiting for its arrival. Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Main railway station in Tokyo, damaged by bombings, with scaffolding of bamboo poles as repairs go forward. With some 1200 trains of all kinds (mostly small electric ones of 3 to 6 coaches) daily, this is one of the busiest stations in the world."
