Joni Mitchell in performance on stage at an anti-nuclear energy protest in Washington, D.C. on May 6, 1979. The protest occurred weeks after an accident at the Three Mile Island nuclear energy facility near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Other performers at the protest included Graham Nash, Jackson Browne, and Dan Fogelberg. The photograph was taken by Don Hamerman who was then a staff photographer for Unicorn Times, a monthly performing arts periodical in Washington, D.C.
