Title |
Discords fanzine, March 1981
|
Description |
The March 1981 issue of Discords, a tabloid fanzine that focused on the punk and underground music cultures in the Washington, D.C. area and elsewhere. Discords editor Howard Wuelfing was an important early participant in the D.C. underground music scene, both as a musician (Slickee Boys, Nurses, Half Japanese) and as a fanzine creator (Descenes, Discords). This issue of Discords -- which was also the zine's debut -- includes interviews with Athens, Georgia post-punk band Pylon and New Jersey rock band Luna Legion. It also includes writings from notable figures like Jim Testa (Jersey Beat fanzine), Calvin Johnson (K Records, Beat Happening), and D.C. music journalist Mark Jenkins.
