An undated photograph of marker for Tokugawa Ieyasu, first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate with a gold insignia and large engraved characters. He was deified and enshrined in the Nikko Toshogu Shrine in 1617. The photograph was likely taken by Chester E. Whiting, founder of the United States Army Field Band, while on tour in East Asia.
