Burnside Bridge, Antietam Battlefield, Sharpsburg, Maryland, circa 1930-1944. Caption reads: "The Battle of Antietam (sometimes called Sharpsburg) was the bloodiest battle of the great Civil War. This old landmark shows the scene of some of the hardest fighting and is in excellent state of preservation. The battlefield, now a National Monument, is located a few miles south of Boonsboro, thirteen miles east of Hagerstown, near U.S. 40." Postcard number: 49, 9A-H38.
