Italian rose garden in Maymont Park, Richmond, Virginia, circa 1915-1930. Caption reads: "Italian rose garden in Maymont Park, Richmond, Virginia. Maymont Park, the former magnificent home of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. H. Dooley and bequeathed by them to the City of Richmond to be used as a park, contains a wonderful collection of shrubs, evergreens, trees, statuary and rare plants gathered by the donors from all parts of the world, but no single selection is more beautiful or magnificent than the Italian rose garden overlooking the James River and Japanese garden. The garden contains an immense pergola covered with rare and exquisite roses and in the foreground, several rare pieces of antique Italian marble statuary." Postcard number: 62780-C, 104X.
