Jefferson Davis Monument, Monument Avenue and Davis Avenue, Richmond, Virginia, circa 1930-1944. Message reads: "Am Having a wonderful visit. This is a beautiful City. Queen." Caption reads: "Jefferson Davis Monument - This imposing monument, the work of Valentine, is remarkable for its symbolical character as well as its artistic beauty. Standing upon a base of native granite is the portrait figure of the first and only President of the C.S.A. His right hand is outstretched in eloquent appeal to the Future while his left hand rests upon the open books of History." Postmark date: February 23, 1955; Postcard number: 1; Message included.
