Tomb of Stonewall Jackson, Lexington, Virginia, circa 1941-1970. Captions reads: "The burial place in the Lexington, Va., cemetery of Confederate General Thomas Jonathan 'Stonewall' Jackson (1824-1863). He was born in Clarksburg, W.Va. At an early age left an orphan, educated in a country school, and at 18 was appointed to West Point. After five years in the Mexican War, he became a member of the faculty at Virginia Military Institute (1851-1861). The statue above his grave is reverently visited by V.M.I. Cadets and other admiring students of his distinguished and brilliant military career." Postcard number: C17914.
