General Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters, Petersburg, Virginia, circa 1907-1914. Caption reads: "General Grant's headquarters. In the village of City Point, about 7 miles from Petersburg, stands an old frame house which was one of the headquarters of General Grant during the Civil War. From here General Grant visited his army on his military railroad, which he had built from City Point to carry troops and supplies as they were landed by transports from the northern states."
