Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Anne Arundel and Queen Annes counties, Maryland, circa 1981-1985. Caption reads: "Chesapeake Bay Bridge : Connecting Eastern and Western Shores of Maryland, the first bridge across the Bay was completed in 1952. The parallel span, opened in 1973, eliminated a traffic bottleneck by permitting one-way operation on each bridge. Over-water length - 5 miles, suspension span length - 2,922 feet, height of roadway - 200 feet." Message reads: "Mom & Dad - Thanks for letter, still get hay fever but not as bad. Go swimming at public pool nearby. Costs 75ยข per swim. Spend most of time writing. Working on 1940's today." Postmark date: June 8, 1985; Postcard number: 21410; Message included.
