Ice Caves near El Morro, New Mexico, circa 1930-1944. Caption reads: "May be reached 23 miles S. W. of Grants or from Gallup via Zuni and El Morro. These are the largest Ice Caves known in America. The party is standing on a floor of ice endeavoring to reach the top of the ledge. This is a natural phenomenon resulting from the passage of air through the underground tunnels of an extinct volcano. The temperature is 30 degrees at all times." Postcard number: 9, 9A-H1259.
