Aerial view of St. Michaels, Maryland, 1975. Caption reads: "History abounds in this old town. During the war of 1812 the British Fleet attacked St. Michaels. In colonial times settlers came up the St. Michaels River, now the Miles River, landing at the site which later became St. Michaels. Baltimore Clippers, Schooners, skipjacks and log canoes have all been built in her shipyards. Oystermen, crabbers, fishermen, clammers and pleasure seekers all use her harbors."
