The Old Slater Mill in 1793, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Caption reads: "Drawing by H.L. Spencer in 1904, from an old print, shows Samuel Slater's small mill of 1793, a building about 30 feet by 44 feet, which forms the nucleus of the present building. The original timbers are still in place. Old Slater Mill, Pawtucket, R.I. First successful cotton mill in America, 1793."
