Artist's depiction of Strode's Mill, near West Chester, Pennsylvania, circa 1950. Caption reads: "Strode's Mill - 1721. Near West Chester, Chester County, Pa. Built in 1721, on land granted to Arthur Cook by William Penn in 1686. Used as a grist mill by the Strode family for 150 years. Supplied flour to Washington's army during the Battle of the Brandywine. Seized by British under Cornwallis. Near old Indian trail. Now in operation for Pepperidge Farm, Inc." Message reads: "Lately restored by the Pepperidge Farm Inc." Postcard number: 35.
